DIY Wedding Crazyness for Dayz!

I had such a blast doing fun making my own wedding decor! I made it almost a game to see how much money I could save and how creative I could be. Yes, every DIY project didn't work out, but it was so therapeutic, and so much fun trying to figure it out!


First things first! Invitation's and save the dates!
I was in shock, when I looked into who much these costs! Aside from the costs of stamps, they were SOOO expensive! So I decided to make my own. I asked around, and tried to find the cheapest place I could print them out at. A friend told me about this company! http://www.overnightprints.com/
So I designed my invites on http://www.picmonkey.com/  and under their Postcards- then custom design, I uploaded and ordered my designs! In total, I spent $45 for save the dates and $73 that's not including stamps.
 I got the envelopes $5 for 50 with coupons
The address stamp I bought from Groupon which I highly recommend getting one of those!
The twine was purchased for $2 at Walmart!

 

Light up DIY sign!! This was probably my most favorite DIY project that I did! The whole thing was $30 dollars, not including the extra large chalkboard pen that I used for the lettering. I bought the chalkboard from using a discount code which made it $10 (pretty much everything I used from Hobby Lobby, was bought with a discount code)

From the beginning my goal was to spend as little as POSSIBLE on bouquets and boutonnieres. After talking to friends about how much they spent on flowers my mind was blown, $1,000+ on something that will barley stay alive through the reception then just tossed! So I winged it and made me own. Sure, it was trial and error as for other wedding DIY projects, and I was never a huge fan of how the bridesmaids bouquets turned out, but they were cheap and simple, which is what I wanted. On the other hand I LOVED my bouquet and the boutonnieres! Made with peacock feather off Etsy.com, dried florals from Hobby Lobby, and darice Floral tape to hold it all together! Made for less than $100 

Got this frame from the thrift store, and chalk boarded it up!

 Awesome find in the dumpster by our old apartment! It was the top of a coffee table!!

 One of my amazing OTA friends found these on the side of the road and thought of me! She is so awesome!! They made perfect isle markers!

The Best Day Ever!

What a perfect day it truly was! For over a year this day has been my obsession. Mainly because Ryan was in Denver, and I was going to school, so planning for it was my therapy! I absolutely loved it. It kept my mind focused on the excitement for what the future holds! Towards the end I have to admit, I was ready for it to come and go, so Ryan and I could finally start our lives together as husband and wife. Here is a little play by play of our big day! 

The day before:

Ahhhh!! A years worth of decor! Did I bring/make too much! For the rehearsal, we asked a ton of people to help with set up, which was amazing, because everyone showed. It was extremely stressful to me though because, I was the one with the vision for everything, and we only had an hour and a half to get it all done! Everyone was asking me where I wanted things..... I have never felt that much stress in my life! Even I had know idea where I wanted some things to go. Thank the lord above for Allison Kincaid, she was amazing and I truly believe I would of had about 5 melt downs if we didn't have her help! We still weren't able to get it all set up, and there was still a ton that needed to get done, which added even more stress that I was gonna have to rely on others to make the barn look the way I envisioned it. When we were done with rehearsal, I took some medicine for my massive head ache, and we headed to dinner at fireside with our closest friends and bridal party, which was a perfect way end to the night. 

The day of:

I stayed the night at Kayla's parents. It was a sleepover just like the old days. Kayla kept me up late, and had me laughing my ass off. At the time I was stressed about not getting enough sleep, but now I wouldn't of had it any other way! I love that girl! I woke up at 4am to go to the bathroom and Kayla heard me. She then started up again! Yeah, I got about 4 hours of sleep that night. The nerves started to sink in! It was I different kind of nervousness, filled with excitement, and anxiousness! Not once did I get nervous about marrying Ryan. Actually, that was what helped calmed my nerves! Remembering the true meaning of the day!

Kayla's mom put together a big beautiful breakfast for us and I could barely choke down a small bite of fruit, which was really not like me! I've never been one to miss a meal. They finally talked me into a mimosa, and that was just what I needed to really calm my nerves. What made me the most nervous was that something big was gonna go terribly wrong, (one of the vendors wasn't gonna show!) or that I was gonna choke during our vows!! I started to wonder why in the hell I wanted to do our own vows in the first place!!?? I have always been terrified of public speaking! What was I thinking!?

Everyone kept telling me, that something that day would go wrong, and that I was just gonna have to brush it off. I kept preparing myself for something, and I think that's why by the end of the day I honestly felt like nothing went wrong.

Before the first look, I got a chance to see how all the decor came together and boy was everything absolutely perfect!! Thanks to Allison, my mom, and mother-inlaw!   

Before the ceremony, I felt like I was gonna pass out, from not eating all day, the heat and all the nerves! Once I started down the isle it was crazy......I looked at Ryan, and realized truly what this day was about. I had a strong sense of calmness come over me, like never before! We both breezed through our vows like it was only us two alone.

Ryan and I still talk about the crazy things that happened during the ceremony, that can only be explained by believing that our loved ones where watching over us.

When our officiant was speaking it was kind of windy in the microphone, then when we went give each other our vows, the wind went completely silent in the microphone. Ryan said that it was hard to focus during the first half of the ceremony because the concrete was burning through his black dress shoes and his feet were on fire, the other groomsmen said the same thing. Until the only cloud in the sky covered our whole ceremony area! Later that night my grandpa pulled me away to tell me a story. He said that during the ceremony two doves flew over us and landed together on the fence. It was so cute how excited he was about it.

I truly believe that these signs where from our loved ones that have past, making their presence at our wedding, and it fills my heart to even think about it!:) <3

The rest of the night was filled with love, joy, and every other wonderful emotion! We walked around trying to say hi and thanks to everyone that came, which was hard! 

We figured that we had about 150+ people there. We weren't able to say hi to everyone, which is probably my one regret. After talking to people after the wedding most everyone completely understood!

The night flew by just like we knew it would! I'm so excited to see the rest of the pictures and our video that Ryan Ferguson is putting together for us!

Ryan and I are completely beside ourselves by how perfect everything went, the love we felt before during and after the wedding. Nothing could have gone better and we are now married!<3

Ps. Huge Thanks to my wonderful family who stayed after the wedding to help clean up! We love you guys SO much, and don't know what we would do without you guys!!

Here is a few highlights! 

Welcome 2015!

Well it's the start of what is going to be one of the most eventful years of my life! Ryan just left yesterday, and it was a sad goodbye:( Knowing that the next few times I do get to see him it will be for only a short periods of time, because of my clinical's I have to do for school. Its been six months that Ryan has lived half way across the country way from me! I can't believe its been that long!!

We had such a wonderful Christmas break! We got to spend Christmas with my family, which is always fun because my moms whole side of the family get together, and my step dad dresses up as Santa and its always funny to see the littles reactions!

We also did the traditional bars on Christmas night, which is always a refreshing hott mess to see so many familiar faces, and drink the night away!

The rest after Christmas was consistent full of Seahawk birthdays, and football games, and we also finished the other half of our engagement session in the mountains with snow! Which I'm really excited to see those.

Another fun event was kicking the new year off with a road trip to Birch bay WA! It was kind of a spontaneous trip, Colt and Kayla have a time share and that was the ONLY place available for the Holiday! We knew we wanted to spend it with them because Ryan hadn't seen them since he left, so we thought why not?!

Of course we forgot our swimsuits for the hot-tube and our passports to go to Canada which is like an hour away, and we had know idea that the polar plunge is a big event that happens there every new year (not like I would actually run into freezing cold water), but it would have been fun to watch and laugh at all the crazy people, but we slept in too late;(.....Those things are really the gist of what there is to do in the winter at Birth Bay.....So we literally we did a whole lot of nothing, but it was okay because we were with some of our favorite people! Plus people watching at the dive(only) bars there was pretty entertaining! 

  

With only six weeks left of the "classroom" time for the OTA program, and tying up bits and pieces of the wedding, you would think I would be in high gear to finish this program, but I'm starting off with a slow start, as you can see that I'm blogging and not organizing my syllabus's. ;/ Hopefully tomorrow is different!

It has been almost three months that Ryan has been gone, besides the amazing Mexico trip in the middle. I could sit here and go on, and on about how utterly empty life is without him; but I'm not gonna do that.....instead I'm gonna focus the positivity of the situation.

Ryan and I have been living with each other since we were 18 years old! We grew up together, and became as one in a lot of ways. Overtime Iv'e seen myself become more reserved as Ryan is, and I've seen him become a little "weird" I guess you could put it, as I am. When you spend so much time with someone It's hard to individualize who you are without that person.

This time apart has honestly resonated a lot of things in our relationship. Ryan has always been my rock, and in the past I have really depended on him for a lot of things, so for me to not have him here, it has honestly forced me to grow as an individual a tremendous amount. It also makes it easier, because we are both pursuing our dreams, and testing our limits daily.

I think this in return has made us realize how much we need each other. Its put both of us and our relationship to the test, and has only proven to make us stronger.

With all of this being said I'm always in count down, and just the thought of graduating from OTA school then being with Ryan again makes me giddy!

The Engagement

Before this trip to Mexico it seemed like everyone had to give me their thought on whether or not Ryan would propose. Most were betting on it, then there were some (my sister) who said if she knows Ryan as well as she thinks she does, hes not gonna do it because its too expected.

Lets be real Ryan and I have been together since our senior year in HIGH school, and have lived together for going on 7 years! No matter what during any sort of special event the thought is going to cross my mind!

So as Ryan and many know I'm not one for surprises, and am a huge snooper. When he got home and started unpacking, he left me alone with his stuff multiple times. I knew then that he didn't have a ring with him. This was upsetting, but I did my best to ignore my internal thoughts and enjoy being with him! It had been two months since we'd seen each other!

I MISSED that man so much!

Day #1 We did something I've always wanted to do.....Snorkeling! What a blast that was! Its another world down there! I have to say I've never tasted so much salt in my life! YUCK!

Day #2 Jammed pack day of fun! 

We went to Mayan Ruins, for a little traditional Mexican history! It was honestly breath taking!

 Then we went to paradise beach and got ourselves some little Wilson drinks!

Day #4 Cancun and Playa is full of the beautiful sink holes, and caves! 

These are just high lights, there is so much more, it was a perfect trip full of some amazing memories!

Day #5

Our last day on the trip, half of our group already left, but our plane didn't leave until around 5pm so we decided to go eat breakfast and walk on the beach, before our long sad trip home....

One thing ill never forget about that special day is how amazingly calm the ocean was! It was so beautiful. 

Before our walk I told Ryan to not let me forget to get a picture of Mexico written in the sand. At this point I was %100 sure he wasn't gonna do it on this trip;( but I couldn't help but be so happy about being able to experience this perfect trip and  perfect piece of paradise with my best friend. 

When we walked far enough down the beach where we were about to turn around, Ryan asked me what I was excited most about going home. I looked at him, and told him how annoying it was going be to tell everyone that he didn't propose on this trip, he looked at me and smiled, and of course assured me it would happen soon. 

We then got about half way back to our resort, and he asked me if I still wanted to write in the sand, I said yeah, and he was like well are you gonna write it or am I? Duh he knows how much a hate my hand writing! 

He made a heart then wrote the first M, and went to the other side of the heart and wrote another M with a question mark, and as blonde I am, I was confused on if he was trying to write M&Ms or Mom....What the hell is he doing to my Mexico in the sand picture!? haha before I could pass my blonde moment he was on one knee with the ring in his left hand!

I can't tell you how in shock I was! He played it off beautifully! Of course I was a drama queen on the beach telling him how mad I was that he waited until the end, and how was for sure he wasn't gonna ask. He said "so that's a yes?!" I didn't even comprehend that he asked me to marry him! 

It was absolutely perfect! I have to say I loved this surprise!<3

Instead of Mexico, we decided to write the year we are planning to get married! 

Ps. The ring was hidden in the new little sound box he just bought the whole time!!
